Our inclusive basketball sessions across Derbyshire and Greater Manchester give individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism a safe, supportive space to enjoy the game, build confidence, and be part of a welcoming community. Whether you're trying basketball for the first time or looking to stay active, everyone is invited to join in and have fun.

WHAT TO EXPECT…
A Warm, Supportive Environment
Every session is welcoming and relaxed, giving members a safe space to play, learn, and feel included. Our coaches and volunteers are experienced in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
Plenty of Activity and Movement
Each session includes a mix of active drills, mini games, and movement-based exercises. It’s a great way to stay active, build coordination, and enjoy the positive energy of being part of a group.
Basketball Skills at Your Pace
We focus on fun, simple basketball skills that anyone can take part in. Whether it’s shooting, passing, or teamwork activities, everything is adapted so members can learn at a pace that suits them.
Friendly Faces and New Connections
Our sessions encourage social interaction, confidence building, and teamwork. Members often make new friends and enjoy being part of a community that celebrates everyone’s abilities.

THINGS YOU MIGHT LIKE TO KNOW

Our sessions are for individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism of all abilities. Although, anyone who wants to play basketball in an inclusive supportive environment is welcome. No previous basketball experience is needed.

For your first time attending, we ask that you get in touch before hand so we can confirm availability and make sure the session is right for you.

Just comfortable clothing, trainers, a drink, and anything you normally use to support your participation. We provide all the basketball equipment.

Absolutely. Family members, carers, and support workers are all welcome to stay and watch.

Sessions typically last around an hour, with a mix of warm-ups, skills, and mini games.

Yes, sessions usually have a small fee to help us cover court hire and equipment. Details will be provided when you contact us.

Our coaches are experienced in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. We create a calm, structured environment and adapt activities wherever needed. And, should any issues arise, we arise, we are always on hand to assist.
