Two DO Sport Girls prepare for Abu Dhabi Special Olympics World Games

In just less than 75 days the Special Olympics World Games 2019 will be hosted in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The world’s largest sporting event with human welfare at the heart in all it does, starts in 2019. The global movement which focuses on the empowerment of People of Determination with intellectual disabilities through the power of sport.
There will be 7,000 athletes from over 170 countries competing in a series of sports, as well as a variety of initiatives and activities held across the seven Emirates.
Sophie and Emma, DO Sport members will be heading to Abu Dhabi in March to represent GB.
Emma said, ‘I feel okay, excited! It is my first time flying but I am not nervous. I have never been to Abu Dhabi before!’
Sophie said, ‘I am feeling excited! I’ve never done this before. Yes, I am a little nervous, just about the flying. It’s my first time to Abu Dhabi.’
We wish Sophie and Emma the best of luck in the games and are immensely proud of their commitment and talent to have been selected to represent GB.
